Individual Class for instruments
The plan is to give students the choice between a number of instruments: piano, violin, guitar, dranyen, lim and yangchin. At present, individual classes are offered in piano only given the limited number of teachers
Course Objectives for the first year to sixth year (piano - practical)
Basic Level - Year 1
To be able to play the piano in the correct posture. Especially, shoulders, arms and elbows must be relaxed without any tension while moving fingers. Introduced and master to play with both hands independently and smoothly (legato) and to be able to understand notes, rhythm, phrasing and dynamics, etc.
Basic Level - Year 2
To strengthen the fingers so that correct finger form is established. Exercise of articulation and phrasing. Practice playing portamento (independent finger movement) and legato (smooth finger movement). Practice cross movement of thumb to play many scales continuously. Continue playing a piece by reading notes (not by heart).
Intermediate Level - Year 3
Continue to strengthen the fingers so that correct finger form is established. To be able to master playing scale, triads and inversion smoothly. Continue practice playing scales to master cross movement of thumb. Continue learning and refining reading notes, correct rhythm, articulation and the style of music works.
Intermediate Level - Year 4
To master the correct positions of fingers and wrist definitely. To be able to tackle with all technical difficulties in pieces played independently. To be able to play arpeggio in legato (with smooth finger movement). Introduced to the use of pedals. Learn the musical expressions in pieces by analyzing music styles, harmonic and articulation.
Advanced Level - Year 5
To be able to clear all technical difficulties in pieces played independently. Continue practice using pedals. Deepen the musical expressions in pieces by analyzing music styles, harmonic and articulation.
Advanced Level - Year 6
To be able to play notes in indicated tempo correctly. To be able to manage all techniques and perform with full musical expression with fluency in the pieces played.
