Piano teaching
Gailė Griciūtė has been teaching piano privately for over 10 years to students of different ages from different musical backgrounds. Along with this, she has been studying piano pedagogy and pedagogical psychology in The Lithuanian Academy of Music and The Sibelius Music Academy in Finland. In addition, she has been attending numerous pedagogical seminars while improving her pedagogical practice over years of constant work with her students. Some of her students have been trained as professional piano players, while some have regarded piano playing as a leisure activity.
She concentrates on building a firm piano technique for her students, so that they would be able to use it to perform widely different pieces. Other important elements have always been to develop score reading and a broad knowledge of the repertoire. She considers it very important to give her students the basics of music history, music theory and improvisation.
All these elements make up an important part of her piano teaching. They help to develop pianistic aspects, student’s musicality and their general approach towards music.
